10 month picture

Oliver at 10 months. (I guess it took me a little while to post this.) Look how precious his little grin is. He is such a happy little guy! I can't believe that I am going to be planning a birthday party soon! I have a great feeling that he is going to dive into his birthday cake. Larry slipped him a piece at Jeff and Katie's wedding a few weeks ago. I had a feeling that daddy would be the first one to feed him chocolate!

Picnic at the lake

We had such a relaxing family fun weekend! We took a break from all home projects and decided to spend time as a family. We haven't done this in awhile. No drywalling, landscaping, etc! We went to a local baseball game with friends on Friday night, the lake on Saturday and vegged out in the house on Sunday. I can't wait until we get to do this again! This is the lake that we went to this weekend. We had a picnic on the hill and watched Sophie enjoy swimming in the water. It didn't matter to Oliver where we were. He had food and that is all that matters!
Larry and Sophie playing with a stick. Sophie had no problems reacquainting herself with the water. She just jumped right in to our surprise!
That small speck on the left is Sophie doing the doggie paddle.
Again, Sophie doing the doggie paddle. Isn't the lake gorgeous?

Jeff and Katie's wedding- NY OR BUST!

Larry, Oliver, Kim, Bob and myself left our neighborhood at 2 a.m. to drive to New York for a wedding. Larry's friend, Jeff was the groom. Kim has family that lives nearby where the wedding was so they decided to drive with us to make it a true road trip! We had such a great time! Traveling with friends is so much fun and really makes the trip go by so much faster. None of us fell asleep the entire way....we left there at 2 in the morning! That is dedication! This is a view of the car from the back seat. We got a little slap happy during the drive. He is a view of our car from the front seat.
Bob and Larry were able to watch a movie while Kim and I listened to XM. Thank goodness we didn't have to listen to those boy movies. We started the trip off with a special viewing of National Lampoon's Christmas vacation. I could watch that movie everyday! We were quoting the movie word for word at 3 in the morning!
Oliver was a very pleasant passenger. I was so worried that he was going to be a little stinker with guests (I shouldn't call them guests...they are almost family.) He was a very happy little guy! Thank goodness! Whew!
Okay, Kim and I are almost-obsessed with the show John and Kate Plus 8. If you are not and avid watcher of the show, this picture will confuse you. On the show they take one of their 8 children on their own special day. Alexis, one of the multiples picks Reptiland as her special day. The family lives somewhere around this area that we drove through. Kim and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pull off the road to snap a picture of a place where they had been! We are too weird. It only took some convincing for Larry to pull the car over and Bob to take the picture.

This is the Bed and Breakfast that we stayed at in NY. It was our first time at a bed and breakfast and it was a wonderful experience. The owners were wonderful and the food was superb! The entire house was occupied by the groom and his family along with another couple who went to school with Larry and Jeff.
A front view of the Bed and Breakfast. It was a gorgeous home!
In between the wedding and reception, we had some time to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather. It was the most fabulous weather we have experienced so far this year. I guess Katie's sisters rosary helped. We found out at breakfast the day after the wedding that the bride's sister had been carrying a rosary in her pocket for an entire month before the wedding. She had been praying for good weather. It helped!!! This is our super huge room! We had room to put Ollie's pack and play on one side of the room and we had the other side to put our bags and he even had room to play!
Larry and Oliver playing on the bed!

Kim and Bob watched Oliver while we went to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It was so thoughtful of them to allow us to have a night out! Kim's mom and dad came a day early to visit so they were able to share in the fun with Oliver! They said he was a very good boy!

Oliver is joining the family for dinner! Kim's aunt was the most gracious hostess for Oliver. She has grandchildren so she had a highchair, toys, and a crib for Oliver to use. We really appreciate her hospitality! THANK YOU!!Kim's mom and her Aunt are giving Ollie some giggle time. He loves to have his feet tickled! Two grandma's spoiling our little boy! We love it!Look at this awesome chair that Oliver is sitting in! He thinks he is HOT stuff! Can you tell that he is a happy little guy! Kim said that he was all giggles and smiles! Larry and I at the rehearsal dinner.
Isaac and Katie. Isaac went to college with Jeff and Larry. It was great to catch up with them.
I caught Larry having fun with the bubbles after the ceremony! You should see the next picture once he found out that I took a picture of him blowing bubbles. I believe his words were "Did you just take a picture of me?" haha! A true kid at heart! The guys are having a great time at the dancing at the reception.
Jeff and Katie posing for a few pictures with the photographer at the reception. It was at the golf course country club. It was on the patio outside, but was under a permanent awning and was absolutely gorgeous. This was the grassy area and view that we had the entire evening. It was a very beautiful wedding! CONGRATS JEFF AND KATIE...WE WISH YOU ALL THE BEST!

POOL TIME

We have all been hanging out at the pool this summer. It has been so refreshing from the "wonderful" humidity we experience here! All the kids love the water, even Oliver and Maya. Oliver loves to kick and actually is splashing the water with his hands! He doesn't mind getting his face wet either! Maybe someday we will have a Michael Phelps in our family! Okay....fine....we'll setting with a brain surgeon!
Ollie and Daddy drying off. I promise that he has swimming trunks....I am not quite sure why they are off in this picture.

Steve, Maya and Ryan breaking for a snack!
Bob, Kim and Amaile. She loved the water too!

Amalie is here to visit- July 20th

Kim's neice, Amalie, came to visit for a weekend while her mom and dad attended a wedding near by. This was an extra special visit because she lives on the West Coast and their visits are few and far between. Kim and Bob were so lucky, they had her to themselves the whole weekend. They stopped by as we were haning out on the deck. Aunt Kim still smiling. She was so excited that Amalie was here! I don't think she took that smile off her face the whole weekend!
It was almost bedtime for the kiddies. Can you tell? Amalie was laying on the deck. I think if we would have stopped talking and laughing, she may have fallen asleep.
Tickle, tickle?? Oliver is putting his moves on Amalie already. We are going to be in trouble! Don't they just look perfect with a baby? tick tock...tick tock...that is all I will say! Hint Hint.....
Amanda, Kim and I took all the kids to the park Saturday morning. Oliver is just chilling out waiting for everyone to get ready for the playgound equipment.
Amalie and Ryan playing around. Oliver was jealous that he couldn't run around. He was however, completly content eating the mulch. That has some sort of protien, right?

Ollie and Ryan taking a break to fill up on snackies.

Oliver can't forget about his one true love, Maya. He was compassionate that she couldn't get out with the big kids and play, so he makes sure that she has some entertainment. He's putting on a show for her to keep her smiling.

Whirl wind weekend

Larry had a bachelor party about 8 hours away. He had to be there Friday afternoon and was staying until Sunday morning. I didn't want to get left behind, so I decided that I would pack up the dog and Oliver and we would go with him, however we would continue the venture another few hours to see our family. It was a very quick weekend to say the least. I got to my parents house about 8pm on Friday and left at 8am on Sunday. Oliver and Sophie did a great job traveling for the most part. Maybe it was the Dramamine and Benadryl that helped....for the DOG I promise!!!!! We have had nausea problems in the past with our lovely canine so the vet has recommended a little help with the medications!
Here are some picture from our very quick weekend (day) vacation.

He was introduced to rice cakes while we were there. Grammy bathed him and got him ready for bed while Christy and I went to the ATM and got gas in the car. He was really ready for his milk so she sidetracked him with the rice cake to buy some time.

Grammy was being very silly trying to take pictures of both of them. This was the best one...you should have seen the others!

Aunt Christy, Oliver and Grammy at dinner with the entire family

Great Grandma Lois and Oliver. My grandma stands at 4 feet something. When she holds Oliver he is almost half her height. We'll have to get them standing next to each other. You won't believe your eyes!

Great Grandpa and Oliver. We got my grandpa this hat for Christmas and from what I hear, he wears it everywhere! It says Oliver farm machinery. I didn't know that existed until we told our friends the names we were deciding between and our friend said he was going to get him a tractor if we named him Oliver. So, I learned that we named our child after farm equipment!
Oliver is sporting his new hat that I found at Old Navy. It has matching swim trunks and to my surprise, the hat is reversible and the best part.....it was on SALE!
Aunt Christy, Mom, Mindy and Oliver posing for a picture in my parents dining room. One last picture before we headed out on the road.
Oliver and Sophie. They play together so well. An 80 pound friend can be overbearing sometimes but Oliver is learning to stand his ground.

A day at Grandma's house

While my mom, sister and I went shopping at an craft show/art festival, Sharon and John watched Oliver. I think they had a lot of fun. It was Sharon's birthday the following Tuesday so I picked up and Amish made apple pie and we celebrated! Sharon with sleepy Oliver.
Great Grandma and Great Grandpa stopped by to see the handsome little guy. He is supposed to be eating, but you can see he is too sidetracked by Great Grandma's beauty! He just looks like she is starring into her eyes!
Another picture of Ollie sleeping with Grandma.
Not a temper tantrum? Can you tell he is not getting his way. I was actually here for this picture.
Oliver absolutely loves doing this. I will probably get turned in for child abuse, but he giggles so loudly when he goes upside down. Sometimes when you pick him up, he will throw himself backwards so that you will make him go upside down. You just always have to be on your toes!
This is an awesome toy that Grandma had for Oliver to play with. I think that as he grows older, he may enjoy it more, but it was hilarious to see him sitting on it.
