Lazy day

Today was a very lazy day. Oliver stayed in his pj's most of the day. We did get out of the house to go for a brisk walk. (It was really cold!!) We came home and took a long nap while the race was on. Then Steve came over and babynapped Oliver! I was able to get the house cleaned up and have a "hot dinner"! Steve came and babynapped Oliver today. He said that he needed man time since Larry is gone. It looks like they are all enjoying themselves.

Windy day!

We survived one week with Larry away on travel. Only 2 more to go.

:( It was so windy here today. Our neighbors house had a tree fall on it. They have a fairly good amount of damage. Luckily it was limited to the garage and no one was home when it happened. The fireman cut down the tree so the neighbors could use their driveway and they put a tarp on the roof for the people. You would have thought the house was on fire because there were a bunch of fire trucks there! Either that or a slow day. Can't imagine with the wind like it was.

Here is Mr. Happy first thing in the morning. He definitely takes after his dad. Sometimes I wonder if he is my child. For those of you who have seen me in the morning, you know that I don't really care for them.

We went for a walk today. The weather was really gloomy, rainy and VERY windy. The kind of day that you want to stay in your pj's. Well, I took the dog out to go potty and realized that it was almost 65 degrees. How could we pass up that weather for walk?? The clouds parted and we went for a big lap around the nighborhood (1 mile). I cut the first lap a little short because the clouds were blowing in. When we got in front of our house, most of them had blown over so we attempted the next lap. As we made it down to the end of the street it started to POUR! There was no warning (other than the dark clouds, duh!). We ran home. I can't remember the last time I ran like that. Boy was it a workout. Sophie was panting when we got home. It took about and hour for my hair to dry and Sophie smelled like wet dog for a couple of hours. All I could do was laugh. It was even more funny when Kim emailed me and said that she saw us running home. I wonder who else saw us???

Oliver all dressed up for church tonight. We decided to try Saturday night mass instead of Sunday morning. He was a really good boy! His feet look huge in this picture.

Peaches!

Well as you can see from the pictures today, Oliver ate PEACHES! I assure you that most of it did go in his mouth. I don't think he cared for them too much. I have a feeling that food with taste is going to be acquired. He wanted to eat his cereal more than the peaches, so I mixed them together and it all went down fine!

We snuggled in the glider together and read the book "H is for Hoosier" before he went off to sleep. Again, no crying tonight. I hope he is getting the hang of it. I guess he had a fun day at Kim's house while I went to work. I will post more pictures of him at Kim's when she emails them to me. I can't wait to see them too. She said they had a great day and even offered to watch him again. It must have been good! Thanks Kim!!!

Grandma's birthday!

It's grandma's birthday today! She is celebrating number 55!! We couldn't exactly figure out what to wear so we decided that his BIRTHDAY SUIT was appropiate!

I promise that this is a birthday party hat not a dunce hat! We took these pictures this morning and sent them to my mom to put on her computer as her screen saver today!

Oliver got to hang out with Ryan today. Amanda had a doctor's appt today so we took Ryan for the afternoon! Oliver loves to be with Ryan! He loves to watch him.

Kim, Ryan, Oliver and I went to eat at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Kim's husband is out of town this week too, so we decided to eat out tonight! Oliver has his eyes on that plate of food.

We managed to survive the night with the tornado watch. The winds were very bad and it to my surprise, it only rained a little bit. Guess the weather man was a little off. Just enough to scare the daylights out of me. (Kim too!!)

Oliver and I camped out downstairs last night because of the storm. He is wide awake this morning ready to go. I don't think I slept a wink.

Hungry? He is going to associate the chair with eating from now on.

We went for a walk today. It was so nice outside. This is the first time he was carried in the Bjorn for a walk around the neighborhood. His hat kept falling down over his face and all of the neighbors asked if that was Oliver or a doll. He didn't seem to mind.

We cleaned and decorated the door for St. Patrick's Day.

Ready for bed. He loves to watch his mobile. It even projects stars on the ceiling that move. Thanks Grammy Kollar! This is the first night that he fell asleep without crying. He must have been really tired. I went to check on him just a few minutes ago and he was fast alseep on his side/tummy. He is rolling around so much now.

3-4-08

Amanda (my friend who watches Oliver) brought Ryan (her 2 year old) to our office for his second dental visit today. We scheduled this appointment at 12:30 so we could all go out to lunch together. Oliver slept the entire time we ate. After work I went to the hospital to see Baby Alyssa. She is one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. I can't believe how much dark hair she has. I didn't want to put her down. I have never held a baby that small. She weighs 6 pounds 11 ounces now. What a cutie! Amanda and Steve had dinner ready when I got there to pick up Oliver. They are such wonderful friends. Kim's husband, Bob, was out of town so she joined us for dinner too. I took a picture during dinner but it is on Amanda's camera. I'll try to get it posted to this entry as soon as I get it from her.
Right now we are under a tornado watch until 3 a.m. and I have a feeling I am not going to get much sleep tonight. I don't like bad weather. So far, it is just raining.
Well, I guess I am just rambling while waiting for Larry to call me tonight.........

Another day over already. We went for a long walk today because the weather was so wonderful. It was a whomping 60 something. That is a heat wave around here!

My friend, Rebecca, had a baby girl today. Alyssa Jordan. Mom and baby are both doing well.

Not much else going on. I am ready for bed. I have to work tomorrow!

Oliver loves to play with Sophie. I think they may be playing peek-a-boo!

They share a lot of the same interests..chewing! It was Sophie's birthday two days ago. She got this new bone!

The weather was so nice today. Sophie and I ate breakfast on the deck. I paid some bills, made some phone calls and chatted with the neighbor. Oliver was taking a really long nap.

I had a CPR class in Dunkirk tonight. It was a long drive home.

The day of firsts.....for everyone!

Today was a day of firsts...for everyone!

1. We had girls day out. It has been so long since we have done this it might as well be a first. Amanda, Kim and I went to see the movie 27 dresses.
2. Since Larry was not here to watch Oliver, Bob offered to babysit him. This was Bob's first time alone with a baby. He did a great job for the record. I think he is ready for kids. hint hint
3. While Bob was babysitting him, Oliver had a major blowout in his diaper. This was Bob's first time changing a diaper. Steve (who has a 2 year old and another coming this week or next) came to visit with Bob as his was in the middle of changing him. Bob changed the diaper and his clothes (it was that much of a blowout!!) We did all we could to not hurt ouselves laughing when we got home and saw that Oliver was dressed in different clothes. We knew exactly what had happened! Thanks Bob! We owe you BIG time!

Well another first. Oliver sat all by himself for the first time. It only lasted about 10 seconds before he fell to the side, but it is official! This is the second time he was sitting but unfortunately he wouldn't sit again to get a picture from the front. I'll try to get one this week from a better angle. Isn't the back of his head so cute?

Whew..one day down!

Well, we survived the first 24 hours without daddy. Only 528 hours left to go! (not that we are counting.) It is going to be a long 3 weeks! We woke up happy, ate and played in the chair so mommy could take a nice hot shower.

Then we got dressed and went shopping! Big shocker, huh?

Oliver loves to be naked. This is right before bathtime! Let's hope mommy gets a full night of sleep tonight!

Oliver is sick!

Well, we made it through our first illness! We had family in town for the baptism and so far a total of 4 people got sick including Oliver. He woke up coughing and then spiked a fever of 103.4. I became one of "those mothers" and paged the doctor at 6:00 in the morning. We got his fever down and finally after 3 days is feeling better. No more fever and no more medicine with side effects. (night time insomnia) Thank goodness!! During the day, all he wanted to do was sleep and it didn't matter where. Here he is crashed out on the couch.
